Polyteis is an experimental/beta educational-technology project developed and maintained by a single individual, Nidal Sancak. It has no corporate support team, uptime commitment or service-level guarantee. Obtain an independent, qualified professional assessment before relying on any result.
1. Parties, scope and acceptance
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are between independent developer Nidal Sancak, operating under the name Polyteis (“Polyteis”, “we”), and the person or authorised organisation using the website, application or related services (“Service”, “you”).
By accessing the Service, creating an account or selecting “I agree”, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy and KVKK Notice. If acting for an organisation, you confirm authority to bind it. Do not use the Service if you disagree.
The account holder and administrator must be at least 18 and legally competent. Children are beneficiaries under active supervision by an authorised adult, not account holders or contracting parties.
2. Single-developer, experimental and beta service
Polyteis is a small, single-developer experimental project. Features may be incomplete, unstable, inaccurate or behave differently across devices. Content, interfaces and data formats may change without notice; the Service may be interrupted or discontinued.
Beta, experimental and preview features are not production-mature and carry an increased risk of errors, data loss and incorrect output. Use them only with appropriate backups, adult supervision and professional review.
3. Purpose and excluded uses
Polyteis is a support tool that helps families, educators, therapists and organisations organise educational activities and observations.
- It is not a medical device, diagnostic system, treatment, therapy, rehabilitation protocol or emergency service.
- It does not replace a doctor, psychologist, speech and language therapist, special educator, teacher, lawyer or other licensed professional.
- Reports, IEP drafts, scores, recommendations, content and AI responses are not official records, definitive measurements or professional opinions.
- They must not be the sole basis for health, safety, diagnosis, placement, medication, crisis or other high-impact decisions.
In an emergency, do not rely on the Service; contact local emergency services and qualified professionals.
4. Children, students and adult supervision
The Service is not an independently operated child account. You warrant that you have valid parental, guardian, organisational or statutory authority—and all required notices and permissions—to enter a child’s/student’s data, process images or audio and run activities.
You must assess each activity’s suitability for the child’s age, needs, health and environment and provide continuous, active adult supervision for screen, movement, sound, camera and object-based activities. You are responsible for a safe physical environment, breaks and safe device use. Schools, clinics and professionals are responsible for staff access, confidentiality, parent notices and legal retention duties.
5. Account accuracy and security
You are responsible for accurate, current account information and for securing your password, device and session. Do not transfer credentials to unauthorised people. Report suspected access promptly to polyteisapp@gmail.com.
Polyteis may use device attestation, abuse detection, quotas and risk signals and may restrict unauthorised, automated or harmful access.
6. Limited licence and intellectual property
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the Service for personal or internal educational purposes. No ownership transfers.
The Polyteis name, marks, software, design, data structures, imagery and original content remain owned by Polyteis or the relevant rightsholder. “Open” access to programs does not mean the source code, brand or all content is open-licensed. You may adapt and use open programs for educational purposes but may not misrepresent Polyteis, resell the material substantially unchanged, systematically scrape it or turn it into a separate data product or model-training dataset.
You retain ownership of original content you upload. You grant the limited permission needed to store, process, back up and generate outputs from that content at your request.
7. User obligations and prohibited conduct
You must use the Service lawfully, professionally and with respect for third-party rights. You must not upload personal or sensitive data without authority; create unlawful or harmful content; use the Service for harassment, discrimination, surveillance, child exploitation, profiling or adverse automated decisions; bypass security, reverse-engineer, inject malware, scrape or overload the Service; or represent unverified outputs as official evidence or endorsed professional opinion.
8. AI, machine learning and automated measurements
AI responses, report drafts, speech/writing measures and object, face, gaze, pose or expression analyses are probabilistic. They may be wrong, incomplete, biased, inappropriate or fabricated and may vary by device, language, lighting, sound, disability and usage.
You must review every output in context and verify it with qualified human judgement. Automated outputs must not diagnose, permanently label, restrict a child’s rights or make important decisions on their own.
If you enable cloud AI, prompts and selected context may be sent to the relevant provider. Do not submit unnecessary, confidential or unauthorised personal data. See the Privacy Policy.
9. Data, backup and loss risk
Local data may be lost if a device is lost or damaged or the application is deleted/reset. Optional cloud backup is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, complete or recoverable to a particular point. Keep independent, secure copies of legally required or critical records.
Account and data deletion may be irreversible. Check the scope and export what you need before deletion. Personal-data practices are explained in the Privacy Policy and KVKK Notice.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service may rely on app stores, operating-system functions, authentication, cloud hosting, crash reporting, device integrity, AI and hosting providers. Their availability and independent conduct are outside Polyteis’s control and their terms may also apply. External links do not constitute continuing endorsement or a guarantee of safety.
11. Fees, subscriptions and store transactions
If a paid feature is offered, price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase. App-store payments are also governed by the store’s payment and refund rules. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Free or beta access may change or end.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
Polyteis may change, limit, suspend or discontinue the Service for security, legal, technical or development reasons. Material changes will be notified where reasonably possible; urgent security or legal changes may take immediate effect.
The current version and date appear on this page. Material changes to rights or obligations may require in-app notice or renewed acceptance. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
13. Disclaimer of warranties and assumption of risk
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, the Service is supplied “as is” and “as available”. Polyteis makes no express or implied warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, data preservation, device compatibility or any educational, therapeutic or professional result.
You acknowledge the Service’s experimental nature and, to the extent permitted by law, assume the ordinary risks of your usage decisions, subject to your duty to verify outputs, obtain professional help, supervise children and maintain backups.
This section does not exclude non-waivable consumer guarantees, data-protection rights or mandatory legal duties.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polyteis will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, or loss of profit, opportunity, reputation, business, data or use arising from use or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility.
Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, Polyteis’s aggregate liability arising from the same series of events will not exceed the total amount you actually paid for the affected Service during the 12 months before the event. Free use creates no additional contractual compensation obligation beyond mandatory law.
These limitations do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence; non-excludable death or personal injury; mandatory consumer rules; non-waivable data rights; or any liability that applicable law prohibits limiting.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law and proportionate to your fault, you agree to indemnify Polyteis against third-party claims, loss and reasonable costs arising from unauthorised data you upload, your breach of these Terms or third-party rights, or unlawful use. Statutory consumer rights and circumstances in which you are not at fault remain unaffected.
16. Suspension and termination
You may close your account using in-app deletion tools or by contacting us. Access may be suspended or ended for breach, security risk, legal requirement, abuse or discontinuation of the Service. Notice will be provided when possible and lawful. IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes and provisions that by nature survive will remain effective.
17. Governing law, disputes and general terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer forums and jurisdiction—including the competent Consumer Arbitration Committee or Consumer Court—remain available. For non-consumer commercial/professional users, the courts and enforcement offices of central Istanbul have jurisdiction.
If a provision is invalid, the remainder survives and the invalid provision is applied as closely as lawful to its purpose. Failure to enforce is not waiver. You may not assign these Terms without written consent; Polyteis may assign them in connection with a transfer/reorganisation while preserving your rights.
If the Turkish text conflicts with a translation, the Turkish text controls to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
