Accessibility Statement

Polyteis is built for disabled and differently-learning individuals; this site being accessible is not a feature to us — it is a precondition.

Our target

This site is developed toward the WCAG 2.2 AA criteria. We have not yet gone through an independent audit, so we do not claim full conformance. We treat conformance as an ongoing process and list the known gaps openly below.

What is in place on this site

  • Keyboard: Every function — menu, search, filters, FAQ — is fully usable with the keyboard alone. Every page has a "Skip to main content" link and a high-contrast focus indicator.
  • Screen readers: Pages are structured with a heading hierarchy, landmark regions and status announcements (e.g. the search result count). Decorative images carry empty alternative text.
  • Contrast: We target at least 4.5:1 for body text and at least 3:1 for large text and UI components. State is never conveyed by color alone.
  • Zoom: Usable at 200% text zoom and at 320 CSS pixels width without content loss or horizontal scrolling. Browser zoom is never blocked.
  • Motion: With the system "reduce motion" preference, sliding and reveal animations are turned off. Content is visible even if animations or JavaScript fail.
  • Touch: Interactive targets are sized at least 44×44 pixels.
  • Plain language: We aim for short sentences and explain abbreviations like AAC and IEP on first use.

Known gaps

  • The site has not yet been independently audited or tested with real assistive-technology users.
  • Searching and filtering the programs requires JavaScript; without it, programs are reachable only by direct links.
  • Program content is long and can contain technical terms (e.g. "discriminative stimulus"); plain-language work continues.
  • The accessibility review of the Polyteis mobile app is outside the scope of this statement and is maintained separately.

Feedback

If you hit a barrier — text you can't read, a button you can't reach by keyboard, an animation that tires you — please write to us: polyteisapp@gmail.com. Accessibility feedback is handled and answered first.
